It is time to raise the profile of our activities!
In conjunction with Raise the Roof , Bridport Town Council and Wessex Community Assets we will host a week, (well, 10 days) where the focus will be on all things housing.
Also check our Facebook Page for latest info @BridportACH
The overall aim of Bridport Housing Week is to identify and set in motion community-led solutions that will help solve housing poverty and provide energy efficient, truly affordable homes.
Other key objectives are:
To ‘launch’ BACH into the wider locality.
To engage with people interested in self-build and modern methods of construction.
To promote Bridport Town Council’s energy efficiency campaign.
The programme includes:
An evening Discussion Forum, with a guest speaker, to explore housing poverty solutions.
A demonstration involving local volunteers (including students) of modern design and construction methods using natural materials.
Unfortunately we have had to POSTPONE this event – but we are hoping to host a related project at the local school. The BACH Stand at the Housing Fair on the 30th October will include further information on our demonstrator project intentions.
A Housing Fair where community led and commercial organisations will ‘display their wares’ and be available to answer questions, discuss housing crisis problems and solutions.
A workshop aimed at helping home energy reduction and, importantly, reducing household energy bills.
